Not so eFAST!

Luke and I scanned a patient for EFAST practice. She had 3/7 LIF pain which was sudden onset. She wasn't in too much pain. LIF tender but not guarding. Nil PV dc. Afebrile and obs normal.

US of the pelvis revealed an enlarged ovary which was Hyperechoic and avascular. Her Fallopian tube was dilated.

US was expedited And gynae was called.

Most ovarian torsions have an enlarged abnormal looking ovary on US. So have a look and if it looks weird get a formal scan urgently
